Citizens are increasingly aware of the urgency of protecting our Climate, pushing decision-makers for urgent action. Yet, European cities have been using EU, national, regional and local funds to finance their Covenant action plans, and have also been mobilising citizens finance to get support local projects. In the current context and the fight to Covid-19, additional funding and investments are needed.
In this second C-Track 50 webinar, we will look at some innovative ways to finance sustainable energy and climate actions at local level related to citizen finance. Indeed, the 2019 climate mobilisations showed growing interest for climate issues coming from citizens, and this is an encouraging sign that they are ready to take ownership of the Energy Transition. Solutions like energy cooperatives and crowdfunding will be presented and discussed. Join us on the 9th of June and hear about Citizen Finance from both institutional actors and first-hand practitioners from the ground!
